Our Fall 200HR Teacher Training program runs 8 weekends spread over 4 months
Each weekend we explore and dissect various layers of practice including: history, philosophy, anatomy, physiology, energetics, breathing, psychology, mindfulness and more. In addition we will explore various components of teaching methodology during each weekend module including: cuing postures, introducing breath work, sequencing and guiding meditation.
Our Empowered Yoga 200 HR yoga alliance recognized teacher training offers prospective instructors and students seeking a deeper understanding of yoga, and ultimately themselves, an intimate and nurturing environment in which to learn, grow and become empowered as teachers and individuals. Born from 20 years of research, study, practice and thousands of hours of teaching, Empowered Yoga is comprehensive program combining ancient traditions and philosophies with modern advancements in psychology, kinesiology, and lifestyle, creating effective and relevant tools for the modern teacher and student of yoga.
We recognize that some of these practices are thousands of years old, and the world was a very different place then. We live differently now, have access to more information, we have longer life expectancies and have made quantum leaps in modern medicine and technology. Our vision is to extract meaning and context from the ancient practices and combine this with modern medicine, kinesiology, nutrition and therapy. It is very clear that no two people share the same experiences, this program opens up the dialogue between many therapeutic and movement modalities, giving everybody a voice and dissolves the limiting boundaries that isolate and protect systems, in order to empower individuals . Any holistic system that lacks insight gained from modern paradigms lacks the relevance and continuity to be effective in the modern world.
This course is perfect for those who want a deeper understanding of yoga and how to implement these practices into daily living as well as those who are interested in leading group classes. For those interested in leading workshops, specialty programs and private yoga we encourage the 500Hr or 800Hr Program.
Home work, reading and Practice (20HRS) We have many video and online learning supports which students can utilize during non-classroom hours. This 20HRS is the total minimum required time for the course. Some students may require more homework hours but it typically averages 2.5-5HRS/week in addition to the scheduled classroom hours.
In addition to the required weekends there will be observed classes (X2) and a practical exam with Senior Empowered Yoga Teachers. We will also have many online tutorials and additional resources for those students who need a little extra support. For those students out of town both the practical/assisted teaching and the karma project will be arranged in home town (5HRS). These hours are completed after the scheduled classroom hours.
We accept between 20-30 students per cohort.
