Aging with grace, special considerations on teaching yoga to seniors.

Join Heidi Mason, Physical Therapist and Yoga Teacher, to discover how we can use the practice of yoga to support healthy aging and maximize the richness of the later stages of life. Explore aging from a yogic perspective as a time of embracing change and a time to deepen inward focus, wisdom, connection and contentment. Gain knowledge and practical experience in designing classes geared to mature yogis from asana, breathing, meditation, themes and body awareness to practical environment set-up. Learn how to safely address special considerations such as joint replacements, arthritis, osteoporosis, balance, vision and hearing impairments, COPD and several more including chair asana modifications and sequencing. Leave this training equipped to safely and conscientiously share the practice of yoga with a senior population having gained an awareness and appreciation for its benefits in supporting healthy aging of the whole person physically, mentally and spiritually
