Research has shown that both the body and the mind are highly plastic and therefore the way we move our body, breathe and think literally shapes who we are and our experiences. In this active workshop style class we will develop an embodied understanding of the miraculous temple that holds the self. We will use “Mindful Movement” honouring our individuality and uniqueness and at the same time provide a microscope that we can study ourselves through. As we begin to wake up to the reality that is unfolding right in front of us, in each posture and sensation, we become aware of both our physical compensation patterns and mental/emotional reactions. This awareness allows us to consciously and compassionately create change. Each class will offer a different angle and theme and provide a short lecture, dissecting a specific part of anatomy, philosophy or theory and then apply it to the context of an active vinyasa style practice.
This class is open to ALL levels and abilities
September 22nd- December 8th

Danielle Murray E-RYT 500
Danielle has been teaching Yoga for over 8 years, and practicing for 15 years. She began practicing to compliment her training as a young athlete and upon retirement from the sport, to cope and thrive through battles with severe anxiety and depression. She is an E-RYT 500, Empowered Yoga Teacher Training Facilitator and lululemon ambassador. Learning new things lights Danielles fire and she is continuing her studies with Empowered Yoga working toward her 1000 Hour Teacher designation. The message has evolved over years of practice, teaching and training but the intention is the same; to enrich and empower others through the practice of yoga so they may connect with the self. She hopes that through yoga students can find contentment, peace, acceptance. That they are perfectly imperfect and that is exactly as it should be.
Danielle sees her yoga practice as a safe space to prepare for life off the mat. In this controlled stress environment we can experiment, take chances, and learn to cultivate the abilities to nurture the self, body, mind, and spirit. Danielle believes that yoga should be accessible to all, in her classes you can expect modifications and variations for all levels of students. Danielle is a lover of all things flow so you can expect to see elements of Rocket Astanga, Vinyasa, and intelligent sequencing throughout, balanced with deep pranayama, intention, meditation and mantra. Danielle has a light heart, so come to class prepared to sweat, smile, listen to funky music and feel the depth of your breath.
