In this workshop we will specifically look at areas often underdeveloped in traditional yoga sequences. These blind spots often leave us suseptable to injury, through both overuse and underdevelopment.
Develop strength, stability and resilience through learning to connect with and understand the power of the musculature on the back of your body including the gluteals, lattisimus dorsi, trapezius, rotator cuff, neck extensors, erector spinals, multifidus, QL’s and more. We will also look at “eccentric contractions” and “plyometrics” and their role in stability and resilience in our bodies. This course will include the use of suspension training, thera-bands and dumbbells and will provide some great tools any practitioner or teacher may incorperate into their self-care rituals.
Michele Theoret has a BSc in Exercise science and has 20 years experience as a personal trainer, strength and conditioning coach and Yoga teacher/therapist. During this workshop she will draw from many movement paradigms in order to create strength and stability in your body and mind.
