There is a saying in neuroscience that states “What fires together wires together” and it’s often suggested in somatic and trauma focused therapies that “in order to heal you need to feel”. Courageous presence or showing up with compassionate curiosity and radical acceptance (as opposed to avoidance, criticism, judgment, numbing etc) towards ourselves sounds simple enough in a quote on instagram however the practice may feel exhausting in the throes of life. I get it! It is one thing to feel calm, at ease, and peaceful when things are ‘good’ and definitely more challenging in a pressure cooker. The goal with practice is flexibility whether that is in your tissues, nervous system, heart, and mind. We are not designed to feel content and easy breezy all the time. We have survival mode and a plethora of emotions for a reason. The goal of practice is to stay connected to ‘Self’ and grounded throughout the vicissitudes…and if/when you do get rocked may you find grace on your way back home.
I have curated this online studio in order to offer a collection of yoga, meditation and self-care classes that may provide support, guidance, motivation, distraction…or whatever you may be needing as you navigate the trenches (or beautiful landscape depending on where you are at right now). These classes anywhere and anytime, allowing you to be virtually and internally connected!
Fear keeps us focused on the past or worried about the future. If we can acknowledge our fear, we can realize that right now we are okay. Right now, today, we are still alive, and our bodies are working marvelously. Our eyes can still see the beautiful sky. Our ears can still hear the voices of our loved ones-Thich Nhat Hanh
