As much as I love working with individuals, there is something extra special about working with couples. Most traumas and friction occur in relationships and therefore practicing vulnerability, emotional intelligence, and conscious communication with your significant other, whether you plan on separating, are healing from betrayal, or looking to spice things up a little, can have a significant impact on all areas of life.
I utilize the Gottman Method alongside mindfulness-based, compassion focuses, and EMDR therapies in order to reauthor a new kind of relationship.
Interventions are designed to help couples strengthen their relationships in three primary areas: friendship, conflict management, and the creation of shared meaning. Couples will learn to “fight effectively” because the truth is there will always be conflict and compromise in a relationship. The goals of Gottman Method Couples Therapy are to increase intimacy, respect, and affection while removing barriers that get us stuck in reactive and unconscious relationship patterns. Interventions are designed to increase closeness and intimacy (mindfulness) improve friendship, deepen emotional connection, and create changes that enhance the couples shared goals.
For couples therapy, I ask to meet with the couple together for the initial appointment (50min). Following the initial assessment, I recomend each partner to complete a thorough online assessment called Gottman Relationship Check-up alongside individual sessions (50min each). After these initial 3 sessions I continue to meet with the couple (recommended 80min) in order to collaboratively work on the areas outlined in the assessment sessions.
- 80min sessions $300
- 50min sessions $200
